Tue, 15 April 2008 Welcome to episode 3! All about Art Fairs.
Today I give advice to other artists about art fairs! This is something I'm asked about a lot, since I've done a lot of artist fairs, so hopefully there's some tips here that'll help!
A wee apology in advance: I lost a lot of editing time yesterday when Audacity crashed. In addition I decided to play with splicing together my audio with snippets of an art fair meeting yesterday at Skylark Gallery. (Thanks to the artists at Skylark who were happy to be recorded!) Some of the jumps aren't great, I need to find some good segway music or sounds. A few blips and bits where I'm trying to edit out my "and"s and "umm"s, and I'm still getting to grips with adjusting the levels and peak amplitudes and stuff, especially trying to match recordings from different places. Welcome to episode 2!
This week I have artist and friend Jo Ashby over for coffee and croissants while she has a look at my Blurb books. We talk about the books, about my paintings and photographs, and bits of other stuff. It winds down with sounds from Greenwich, recorded specially for listener Sue in France. At one point Jo talks about the flecks of white of waves so it's worth having a look at her sea paintings so you can see what she means by the difference in our work. (Jo also paints seascapes.) Mentioned on the show: Jo Ashby, painter www.tina-m-books.com : My books Blurb book creation Skylark Gallery Greenwich Market Sue Lishman, artist You can also subscribe or listen to the podcast direct at StudioWaves. Sat, 5 April 2008 Sometimes it's easy to forget that technology you're used to, other people find alien! A few people just couldn't find out how to listen.
Firstly, remember that a podcast is just an MP3 file. It's just a music or audio file that plays in your internet browser. Nothing fancy or strange. :) So here are some points and tips for people new to listening to podcasts:
